project life 2016, week 40

I had a bit of time to go back to 2016 this week to keep filling up those pages and weeks with photos and words.

I used the very last cards from my Studio Calico Confidant documenter kit and many components from the Ali Edwards Go Story Kit.

I created the title using the Months of the Year silkscreens and Tilamook acrylic paint, plus various elements from the two kits I used this week, and stuff from my stash.

When I choose a metal for a spread, I don’t like to mix them, so I added these silver and craft labels from my label stash to compliment the silver chevrons in this paper from the SC kit.

I was going to cover up the date section on the bottom of this journaling card, but I forgot about it until I was done and everything was away and I was too lazy to go back. (at least I’m honest!)

This card is from the Go story kit, but there is also a digital version when you subscribe to the kit and physical stamp, which I do. Since I knew I was going to be typing my journaling onto the card, I went all digital to save, which saves me the actual card so I can use it later. I added “552 mi” as a subtitle to the card, indicating the number of miles we drove this week. woah.

This little embellishment cluster took a bit of futzing to get right (see process video, below), but I settled on something I was pretty happy with.

The brushes you see scattered throughout the layout (view here, wander two photos above, and explore on the left side) are all digital brushes from Ali Edwards’ Getaway file that I applied in photoshop before printing.

And here are the two sides together. Not my most favorite layout, but there are several elements I like by themselves.

Below is my process video about how it all came together, wherein my cat Maggie makes a cameo. If you like what you see, hop on over to my channel, like the page or, better yet, subscribe!
